Mary Huff, AICP

Mary has been the Planning Director for Owyhee County for the past 18 years, as well as a rancher with her husband and their daughter, who is the 4th generation ranching on the same land. Mary along with two colleagues host a monthly Zoom meeting called “Ag Chat” concerning fragmentation, and loss of large-scale productive agricultural land to development. The “Ag Chat” was awarded the Rural Innovation Award from Western Planner earlier this year. Mary is very involved with her community and served on various boards such as her local school board, the Idaho Chapter of the American Planning Association, the Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council, and is currently the Chairman of the Joint Land Use Study advisory committee, and Chairman of the Historic Silver City Foundation. Mary is passionate about agriculture, and the preservation of landscape-scale farm and ranch lands that feed our nation.
