Train-the-Trainer Workshop
Are you advising farm families on transition planning, looking for strategies to reduce conflict in family businesses or helping clients with the financial management of their operation? Are you interested in refining your practices and methods to better serve your clients?
This 2-day training has been delivered to lawyers, accountants, bankers, and farm transition advisors across the nation, and through partnership with the Idaho Farm and Ranch Center is being brought to Idaho for the first time. Attendees will gain insight and access to proven tools to better serve their clients throughout the lifespan of their business, and especially during the succession planning process. The course has been approved for 12 Idaho MCLE credits.
Topics –
- Succession and estate planning process
- Finding common ground in farm family businesses regarding mission, vision, and values
- Building sound farm management practices to aid in farm transition
- Understanding the operation – history, financial valuation, compensation and more
- Using personality profiles and other methods to promote professional communication
- Dealing with multiple entities and governance structures
- Using and personalizing tools – questionnaires, proficiency tests, SWOT analysis

Dick Wittman – Wittman Consulting
Dick is board chair and former manager of his family’s dry land crop, cattle, and timber operation in Northern, Idaho, and has first-hand experience with the workshop content he presents.
