Swine Imports

Entry Permits are not required when using an approved electronic CVI form. The only approved eCVI forms are those from GlobalVetLink, State of Oregon, Vet Sentry, Sale Time, Mi-Corporation, myVetTech, Acclaim Systems VET CVI and State of Texas. If you are not using one of these forms, normal permit requirements still apply.

ISDA’s “Rules Governing the Importation of Animals” has detailed requirement information. Use this information as a general guide and contact us if you have questions.

All swine entering Idaho require:

  • CVI with the full physical address of the destination.
  • Individual, official identification listed on the CVI
  • Raw Garbage Statement
    –  “These swine have not been fed raw garbage.”
  • PRV Statement
    –  “These swine have not been vaccinated with any pseudorabies vaccine.”
  • PEDv Statement
    –  “To the best of my knowledge, swine represented on this certificate have not, within the last 30 days, originated from premises known to be affected by Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus (PEDv) and have not been exposed to PEDv.”
  • All breeding swine not originating from a brucellosis free herd or brucellosis free state must have a negative brucellosis test within 30 days of movement into Idaho.

Please call our office for importation if swine originate from a state or area which is not stage IV or V for pseudorabies.

Please note that swine going directly to an approved slaughter facility to be slaughtered within 3 days are exempt from all of the above requirements.

A summary of all large animal import requirements is available in our Import Brochure, which may be printed out for your offline records.

These requirements only cover animals entering Idaho – please see our export resources if you are shipping animals to another state.
