2019 Sandpoint Produce Safety Alliance Training
Monday February 25, 2019The Produce Safety Alliance (PSA) Grower Training curriculum is currently the only FDA-approved training program to prepare fresh produce growers to meet the regulatory requirements in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule.
FDA Publishes Final Rule Extending Compliance Dates for Agricultural Water Provisions
The Produce Safety Rule requires that all farms covered by the Produce Safety Rule have a designated representative complete this training. To help determine if your operation needs this training, please complete this self-guided decision tool.
This eight (8) hour, one-day Grower Training Course will cover key areas and requirements of the Produce Safety Rule including:
- Introduction to Produce Safety
- Worker Health, Hygiene, and Training
- Soil Amendments
- Wildlife, Domesticated Animals, and Land Use
- Agricultural Water
- Postharvest Handling and Sanitation
- How to Develop a Farm Food Safety Plan
Note: Lunch, refreshments, course materials, and certificates are included with registration. The cost associated with manuals and certificates is sponsored in full by a grant from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
