What is an On-Farm Readiness Review? (OFRR)
An OFRR is a voluntary, non-regulatory review of a farm’s covered activities which is intended to prepare farmers for implementation of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule (PSR). Reviewers can provide resources and tools to an individual farm to help them comply with the rule requirements and be prepared for regulatory farm inspections.
Reasons why you may want to schedule an OFRR:
- Voluntary and free.
- Helps to align your practices with what the Produce Safety Rule requires.
- Helps implement on-farm produce safety practices.
- Provides personalized discussion about your farm's food safety activities.
- Improves your readiness for a PSR inspection.
- Provides an opportunity to meet the Idaho regulatory and educational team.
- Reference manual and all notes provided to participant.
Who will be conducting the OFRR?
The Idaho OFRR team will consist of 2-3 people from the Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) and the University of Idaho Extension, with at least one educator and one investigator. Our team’s goal is to provide you with information and help align your farm’s specific operations to the Produce Safety Rule.
