Accreditation Requirements

Accreditation of milk laboratory analysts seeking or maintaining certification at an accredited laboratory facility, must meet the following requirements:

  • The analyst(s) are observed performing all required testing methods by a state Laboratory Evaluation Officer at least once every two years on-site in accordance with the official milk laboratory forms (FD-2400);
  • The analyst(s) meets the performance levels of the split-sample proficiency testing program.

The Dairy Laboratory maintains a list of all certified analysts working in the state of Idaho and can help facilitate analyst training upon request.

The FDA laboratory accreditation and endorsement of sample collection surveillance procedures provides a national base for the uniform collection and examination of milk, in compliance with the sanitation standards of the Grade “A” Pasteurized Milk Ordinance.
