Mission Statement

The Idaho State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) Dairy Lab performs Food and Drug Administration (FDA) testing of dairy products to assure compliance with Grade “A” requirements. This lab also provides accreditation of milk laboratories and analysts in the dairy industry through on-site evaluations and split sample proficiency testing surveys. The dairy lab analysts and the state Laboratory Evaluation Officers (LEOs) are certified by the FDA. The state LEOs accredit and certify milk laboratories and analysts in the state of Idaho.

Split Sample Proficiency Testing

The Dairy Laboratory administers split sample proficiency tests to industry analysts annually.

Test methods include: Petrifilm Aerobic Count, Petrifilm Rapid Aerobic Count, Electronic Somatic Cell Count, Microscopic Somatic Cell Count, Delvotest, Charm SL, Charm SL3, Charm BL30SEC
