Governor Little Declares February 16–22, 2025, Idaho Community Supported Agriculture Week

Tuesday February 18, 2025

Boise, ID – Governor Brad Little officially proclaimed February 16–22, 2025, as Idaho Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Week, celebrating the vital role of local growers in strengthening Idaho’s economy, food systems and communities.

“ISDA Idaho Preferred is proud to promote and provide resources for Community Supported Agriculture Week,” said Chanel Tewalt, Director of the Idaho State Department of Agriculture. “CSA Week highlights the incredible impact of local farms and food producers across our state. This initiative is just one of the many ways Idaho Preferred supports our producers, strengthens local economies, and connects communities with fresh Idaho products.”

CSA programs allow consumers to purchase seasonal subscriptions directly from local farmers, receiving a share of freshly harvested items such as produce, proteins, dairy, eggs, and specialty goods like honey and flowers. With over 80 CSA programs available statewide, Idaho residents have numerous opportunities to support family-owned farms while savoring the freshest local food.

To make finding local CSA options easy, Idaho Preferred developed a Farm and Food Finder Directory, an online platform connecting consumers to Idaho growers and food crafters.

“The Farm and Food Finder is a powerful tool for consumers and businesses seeking locally grown food,” said Erica White, Program Manager of Idaho Preferred. “Not only can users learn about local growers and their offerings, but they can also make direct purchasing contacts, discover where products are available in retail or restaurants, and connect with farmers open to growing for institutions or restaurants. It’s a dynamic way to connect Idahoans with the best our state has to offer.”

Idaho Preferred offers a statewide CSA Directory and a print brochure to ensure accessibility for all Idahoans.
