Beginning December 22nd, ISDA’s main Boise office at 2270 Old Penitentiary Road will be under construction, and the main public entrance will be temporarily inaccessible. All walk-ins or mail pick-up/drop-offs will be directed to the Animal Health Laboratory at 2300 Old Penitentiary Road.

ISDA offices will be closed for the holiday December 24th, 25th, and 26th.

While most of ISDA’s regulatory oversight regarding feedlots and markets pertains to protecting animal health, there are some environmental regulations as well.

Facilities approved to feed special classes of cattle. These facilities renew annually.

 

Public Livestock Markets require a charter that renews annually.

 

ISDA mostly regulates how feedlots manage their waste.


Facilities which can receive cattle without identification and apply tags on arrival.

Program designed to minimize adverse impacts on surface or ground water.
