Swine Imports

Premises in the following states have been under quarantine for Vesicular Stomatitis (VS) within the past 30 days:
    • Arizona
Animals located on a premises where VS has been diagnosed may not enter Idaho. All other livestock coming from these states require an entry permit or approved eCVI and a VS statement that the animals are not from a VS-positive premises on their CVI, in addition to the requirements below.

All swine entering Idaho require:

  • CVI with the full physical address of the destination.
  • Individual, official identification listed on the CVI
  • Raw Garbage Statement
    –  “These swine have not been fed raw garbage.”
  • PRV Statement
    –  “These swine have not been vaccinated with any pseudorabies vaccine.”
  • PEDv Statement
    –  “To the best of my knowledge, swine represented on this certificate have not, within the last 30 days, originated from premises known to be affected by Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus (PEDv) and have not been exposed to PEDv.”
  • All breeding swine not originating from a brucellosis free herd or brucellosis free state must have a negative brucellosis test within 30 days of movement into Idaho.

Please call our office for importation if swine originate from a state or area which is not stage IV or V for pseudorabies.

Swine going directly to an approved slaughter facility to be slaughtered within 3 days are exempt from all of the above requirements.
